spring
Spring has started.. and with it, came mother's day (in Lebanon at least).. and of course, i totally forgot about it.. because in reality.. which one am i supposed to celebrate.. Lebanon's, the US's or Mexico's?? Does it go by where you're from.. where you live.. or where your mom lives.. it's a mystery, i tell you.. the way we've been doing it so far is to celebrate it wherever my mom is.. so in the last few years.. mexico.. and if memory serves.. that's not till may.. anyone out there want to remind me? :) It's ok mama.. i'll remember in time.. i promise :)
Speaking of mothers.. mine is going in for surgery tomorrow.. it's not a major major major procedure.. however, it's something that she has to do vs. something she wants to do.. it turns out that she has a macular hole in one of her eyes.. and it's good that she caught it now vs. later when it would have been very hard to treat.. as of now.. she has a pretty high rate of getting most of her vision from that eye back.. she has really good vision in general.. so right now it's just that one eye has been working its ass off to make up for the other eye's laziness.. that's the simple explanation :) Anyway.. the surgery is not the hard part.. the recuperation, though.. is.. It basically consists of a 2-week face-down position where most of your day needs to be spent... as you read above "face down".. i think that it will be hard.. in the first few days especially.. but she'll get through it.. and then when she comes to visit me here in LA.. she will see my apartment through her improved eyes.. don't worry.. i'll be ready! :)
Other than that.. there isn't much to write about.. my room is finished.. well, the wall is at least.. and the rest will be done in the next few weeks.. slowly but surely.. if my queer eye would come and visit.. we could get that done asap.. but we'll see how her schedule looks before i start with my threats and ultimatums.. yeah.. i'm mature :)
K.. well.. back to work for me.. i swear, i feel like it was just yesterday when i was complaining about not having anything to do at work.. and now.. it's like an avalanche of work.. i should have known better than to say anything.. but to look at it from a positive perspective.. at least my days are flying by!!
Oh wait.. before i sign off.. and i will write about this more when i know more.. but my roomie and i have decided to totally become "LA" and to write a screenplay.. yes.. you read correctly.. neither of us has ANY idea.. but we have 6 weeks to get it done.. since we want to compete with some other writers (they're actually professionals but we believe in beginner's luck).. it's a topic near and dear to our hearts.. "my big fat greek wedding".. lebanese style.. need i say more??
