year of dog..

Readers... as one of my best friends just informed me (hi Jane!!!).. Jan. 29th starts off the Year of Dog (or Feb. 4th depending on which calendar you're looking at).. what this means, according to the Shanghai papers i've tried reading is that a baby boom is expected this year and therefore the demand for nurses will be HUGE.. i am only repeating what i've read.. so for those of you not expecting babies.. or that aren't nurses.. which i can safely assume constitutes about 98.7% of my readers.. what does this year mean for you?? Well.. here's something that might resonate with more readers.. According to Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics Founder and CEO Joey Yap, “The fire element will be strongest in the new year, so it is good for renovations, moving house and purchasing property. Fire-related businesses like restaurants, and the gas and oil industry will also be good, at least for the first six months.".. and no, i didn't make that up.. if you don't believe me.. check here.. told you so! :)

So.. other than that happening this weekend.. the apartment search will continue.. whoever wished me luck on finding a place.. thanks.. :) We'll be checking out a few properties in Santa Monica tonight.. and in the meantime are still waiting to hear back from the one place we applied to.. honestly people, finding an apartment in LA is harder than finding a job.. seriously.. it's a bit scary.. and strangely enough.. some of the listings are actually OPEN.. so you can just show up and check out the apartment when you want totally unsupervised!! For those of you that find this normal.. wow.. maybe it's just me.. but seriously.. after living in mexico city and paris.. i cannot even imagine doors being left open.. that just creeps me out.. i mean.. what about the other tenants.. are they cool with random people snooping around at all hours of the night?? Ok, i might sound a little dramatic here.. ahahahahaha.. but i don't get it.. it's great that it's been working out.. but the concept is just beyond me.. seriously! :)
